Employee Spotlight: Greg Gebhard Celebrates 25 Years at The Bank of Elk River

The Bank of Elk River is proud to announce a significant milestone in the career of one of its most well-known employees, Greg Gebhard. This year marks Greg's 25th anniversary with the bank, a remarkable journey that started in his senior year of high school.

Greg began his career at The Bank of Elk River as a drive-up teller on School Street, balancing his after-school hours with the demands of his job. His dedication and hard work paid off as he quickly moved up the ranks within the bank. After completing high school at Anoka HS and classes at Anoka Tech, Greg transitioned to a full-time position as a vault teller, laying the foundation for his future within the banking industry.

In 2004, Greg made a pivotal move to the Main Street Branch, where he took on the head teller role. His adaptability was tested during the branch's remodel in 2005 and 2006, a challenge he met with characteristic grace and professionalism. His career flourished, leading him to become the Head Teller/Personal Banker at Zimmerman between 2014 and 2018 before returning to School Street as a Personal Banker. In June 2020, Greg's commitment and expertise were again recognized when he was promoted to Assistant Branch Manager.

Greg reflected on his tenure: "A lot is the same. Our personal touch, our care, our relationship-based approach. That is the essence that continues to shine through. Despite the industry's changes, we've managed to maintain our connection with customers. The real beauty is that, in what truly matters, not a lot has changed."

The banking industry has evolved significantly over the past 25 years, with digital banking reducing the frequency of in-person interactions. Nevertheless, Greg emphasizes that the bank has maintained its ability to foster relationships through digital means, ensuring that the interactions are meaningful and enriched when customers call, message, or visit.

"Greg sets the standard," said Main Street Branch Manager David Black. "His customer service is second to none. As he has moved branches, his customers follow him. He loves what he does and is passionate about training others to provide a personalized level of excellence."

When asked why he has remained with The Bank of Elk River for over two decades, Greg highlighted his relationships with customers and coworkers. He expressed gratitude towards the Babcock family for their genuine appreciation and the open-door policy of the bank's presidency, which has made The Bank of Elk River a workplace and a community.

The Bank of Elk River congratulates Greg Gebhard on his 25th anniversary and thanks him for his unwavering dedication and service. Greg's journey inspires all employees, embodying the bank's commitment to our customers and community.
