The Bank of Elk River is proud to celebrate Julia Schreifels’ remarkable 10-year anniversary with the organization. Julia’s journey with the bank began a decade ago, inspired by the bank’s deep commitment to its employees and customers.
Reflecting on her decision to join The Bank of Elk River, Julia recalls, “Bill LaVigne and I were working on a United Way committee, and he mentioned an opening at the bank. After four interviews, I was hired! What truly inspired me was seeing President John Babcock personally engaging with customers. It was clear that this was a place where people value people.”
“The impact Julia has made at The Bank of Elk River is remarkable,” said Bill LaVigne, Chief Operating Officer. “She has evolved our marketing program from just branding and advertising into a robust business development model focused on customer experience.”
Julia has witnessed and contributed to numerous memorable moments and achievements throughout her tenure. “Seeing the organization grow while maintaining our commitment to customers has been incredible,” Julia said. “Winning the Banky Culture Award from The Institution of Extraordinary Banking and the American Bankers Association Award for Top Commercial for Mortgage Lending were standout moments.”
When asked about what she enjoys most about working at The Bank of Elk River, Julia highlights the company’s culture and leadership. “Bank executives lead by putting people first. The investment in training, development, and building a culture of engagement is incredible. Our people are warm and genuinely interested in putting customers and each other first.”
Julia’s role has evolved significantly over the past decade, adapting to the rapid changes in marketing and communications. “From customer journeys and app integration to Google ads and local search, I’m privileged to have a team of experts helping us compete at a high level,” she shares.
Staying motivated and engaged is easy for Julia, thanks to her outstanding team. “They are driven to succeed and provide solutions daily. The camaraderie we share is fun, and seeing the positive difference we make in customers’ and co-workers’ lives helps me thrive.”
Reflecting on challenges, Julia recalls navigating the COVID-19 pandemic. “We had to adapt to remote work while still meeting the needs of our customers. Our team came together, ensuring access to funds was not a barrier during the epidemic.”
Julia’s advice to new employees is to be curious and get to know people in different areas of the organization. “Everyone wants you to be successful,” she says.
Looking to the future, Julia hopes The Bank of Elk River continues its legacy of success. “I hope we stay true to our values, invest in people who care for our customers, and provide innovative solutions for future generations.”
The Bank of Elk River congratulates Julia Schreifels on her 10-year anniversary and looks forward to many more years of her leadership and dedication.
