The Bank of Elk River proudly celebrates Maren Sevcik's incredible milestone of 20 years of dedicated service. Since joining the bank in 2005, Maren has exemplified commitment, adaptability, and a passion for serving both customers and colleagues.
Maren’s journey began when she accepted a position as a Customer Service Representative at the Maple Grove branch. There, she quickly became known for her versatility, handling everything from vault operations to new accounts and teller services. Her willingness to learn and take on new challenges soon led her to a unique role as a Floating Banker, supporting all eight branches and ensuring seamless operations across the organization.
In 2008, Maren transitioned to the Zimmerman branch, where she served as a vault teller and customer service representative. Her reliability and strong work ethic made her a trusted team member, even responding to after-hours security calls when needed.
Always eager to grow, Maren later joined the Compliance Department, where she discovered her passion for Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) compliance. She earned her ICBA Certified BSA/AML designation, a testament to her dedication to protecting customers and the bank from fraud. “I loved solving the puzzle of BSA,” Maren shared. “It’s about safeguarding our customers and strengthening the bank.”
In 2020, Maren embraced another challenge, stepping into her current role as Internal Auditor, Officer. Training for this position during the pandemic while mentoring her successor showcased her resilience and leadership. Today, she thrives on the role's variety and collaboration: “Every day is different, and I get to work with everyone across the bank.”
Reflecting on two decades of change, Maren notes that the bank’s enduring family-oriented culture is why so many employees stay. “That sense of community is rare—and it’s why I’m still here,” she said. She also marvels at the digital transformation in banking, from in-person transactions to today’s online convenience.
When asked what advice she’d give to new employees, Maren said:
“Always look ahead and don’t put yourself in a box. I never imagined I’d be an officer when I started, but growth happens when you stay open to opportunities.”
“Seeing Maren's journey and achievements at TBER has been a real joy. Maren truly shows how drive and ambition can shape a successful career. Her ability to work well with others and take charge when needed is impressive. Maren's commitment to her professional growth shines through in everything she does," said Bill Lavigne, Chief Operating Officer.
The Bank of Elk River proudly honors Maren for her exceptional service, professionalism, and unwavering commitment to our customers and community. Congratulations, Maren, on 20 remarkable years! We look forward to many more!
