Security Officer


The Bank of Elk River currently has a full time Security Officer opening at our Main Street Office in Elk River.

This position is responsible for the physical security of all the bank’s buildings, assets and welfare of employees. They are also responsible for assisting in the bank’s management and monitoring of cybersecurity risk.This position provides oversight and/or guidance in the areas of loss prevention, dealing directly with fraud perpetrated against the bank and customers, and the collection and prosecution of the fraudsters. Administers security programs, procedures and training of staff.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Development of security programs, procedures and policies to limit theft or exposure of the bank’s assets, customer information or employee data.
  • Works directly with vendors to implement physical security systems, cameras, alarms, equipment, etc. Monitors tracking and performance of mechanisms.
  • Works in conjunction with the operations team to investigate and monitor fraud that the bank or customers encounter, by implementing policies and procedures to help prevent fraud and by dealing with the collection and prosecution of the fraudsters with law enforcement.
  • Assist the Information Security Officer in the oversight and daily management of cybersecurity risk.
  • Responsible for training staff on security and robbery procedures and awareness of current or potential fraud to help in loss prevention.

*This position currently serves on the IS&T committee.

  • AA degree and/or 3-5 years of related experience
  • Experience in Security (physical or cyber) and fraud detection/prevention preferred
  • Previous banking experience preferred
  • Ability to work independently and on special projects
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Strong analytical skills
  • High level of ethics and professionalism

Teller II


The Bank of Elk River has a great career opportunity for a Full-Time Teller II to join our main office!

This position would be scheduled approx. 38 hours per week Monday thru Friday with both opening and closing shifts and rotating Saturdays.

Job Summary:

Accurately processes financial transactions and maintains cash accuracy in cash drawer. Cross-sells bank products and services by looking for sales opportunities while assisting customers and non-customers.

A Teller II is able to perform all essential functions written in the Teller job description. At this level the Teller has full knowledge of banking regulations and internal control procedures. They possess the ability and confidence to make service decisions regarding customers that are beyond the normal every-day operations of a Teller.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Regularly is responsible for vault teller transactions which include areas such as: buying and selling cash, ordering cash from Federal Reserve, preparing currency/coin for shipment, balancing the vault/ATM
  • Provides exceptional customer service to current and potential customers, processes customer transactions accurately and efficiently and responds to customer inquiries in an efficient, timely and courteous manner.
  • Maintains established cash drawer limits and meets balancing standards.
  • Has knowledge of bank products and services and is able to educate customers on basic checking and savings accounts.
  • Actively looks for opportunities to cross sell products and services including making referrals to meet customer’s needs.
  • Observes security procedures.

  • 2 years Teller experience preferred.
  • Vault Teller and New Account experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong customer service skills and knowledge of banking.
  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
